Inventing requires a mindset, that mindset is part of you. Your mindset first of all starts from a creative idea, an idea that helps you out doing something. It can later be developed if the focus is the end resulting product of the inventive process.

An educational class needs to be implimented in the DOE (department of education) that teaches how to be creative. Creativity is rewarded in many ways, monetary, personal satisfaction of accomplishment, knowing the result was useful to someone are just three of those and the list would continue into countless benefits unseen until experienced.
The attitude of an inventor needs to be humble, understanding, and soft for success in the field of inventing. A patent is a complete recipe for reproducing the invention and the goal of the inventor should be to share and to promote others into using the invention device.
Making a decision as to what to invent becomes logical deduction based on intended goals of the inventor. Many ideas flow when in the creative cycle of the inventor and deducing possibilities of success needs to be a logical step by step process.
Inventors go through a cycle and compared to yearly, i.e. thinking up ideas and labeling them in the inventors pocket notebook from November to March. Reviewing the written ideas in the inventors notebook and writing down logic regarding a tangible exchange for the time and effort put into the entire inventive project. An independent inventor goes through the inventors notebook once a year and for myself it takes from March to May to decide what to engineer for that year. From April to August the actual making of the parts is done and by September to November the provisional patent draft is written. All inventors go through an inventive cycle that becomes consistent in their lives.
The idea notebook is essential to keep your creative ideas in one area for later evaluation to assess what idea for that year will be chosen in a logical viewpoint to accomplish the inventors goals for the end resulting product. A new inventors notebook should be used each beginning cycle for the inventors creative period.
Logic can be labled as many ways as the word Love, in what way do yo love someone, looks, actions, for one small thing or many together? My logic today evaluates the creative ideas written in the inventors notebook and deduces the money and time required for the project of the inventive idea to come to light in the form of a patentable product. It becomes logical to support the process because of the money to file for a U.S. Patent with legal support. Your logic in definition depends upon your anticipated goal to accomplish in the inventive process.

People want more features in a new product and to understand what others will pay for, is a new product that has more features than the previously available art in product form and available on the retail end for the same price or less.
