I have been designing diverse mechanical art for over 30 years and primarily use the matrix of 8 and it can be viewed in the E-8 . It's just a repeatable pattern for design so remembering designs of past inventions can be swiftly re constructed when one pattern has been used throughout the past inventive years of my life.
After Rossi and Defkalion ran us through some videos and claims, motivating desires to continue experimenting and developing where they seemed to leave off for the LENR claims they have never completely fulfilled for us became a drive to develop a patentable product. This drive soon became a challenge when nothing useful had become of LENR other than to create a desire to further experiment with the process making the elemental fuel of the claimed reactions.
My concerns were for a patentable product while at the same time setting a clock for a filing date to be used after the fuels of the projected LENR devices are perfected. After all when you write patents for your occupation, a challenge as this becomes a strong driving force to invent.
So I spent from January 2012 until early February in contemplation of workable features for a product and then developed concept drawings to scale of an anticipated product. I ended up with 52 auto cad patent drawings scaled to physical size and 8.8k words in the Provisional Patent Application, and named the anticipated product Dolphin 5.
Below are three pics that show the E8 type of matrix used to design Dolphin 5, and when I reviewed the drawings of a physical reactor in the reports Pekka supplied in the link on ecatnews.com from Italy that was generated subsequent my submission provisional to the patent attorney, I was astounded by the simularities. Something in this LENR is real and things like this simularity reassure me that we are on the right track together.
The three figures above (FIG. 3- & 12) show schematical embodiments of the product from the work (IP) of inventor Dale G. Basgall and slide 1 is the cover page of the provisional patent application. This schematical embodiment work began on or about Feb 1, 2012 and was finalized on or about April 8, 2012 with document attached for specification and claims. These documents were sent to the patent attorney John R. Flanagan by the inventor and received on same date via. e-mail in their original form on or about April 8, 2012 by patent attorney Flanagan.
Now referring to the cover page showing the fluid heater named Dolphin 5 which is nothing like a reactor right, simply a fluid heater operating on a DC battery system. In reality this product emerged from careful and lengthy evaluations based on logical features of an anticipated product that is useful and can be patented within the United States.
After all what end result does a reactor usually produce? Heated fluid was the evaluation, however the fluid is heated as a result of cooling something down like a hot chunk of metal, and not a developed consumer product such as hot water on demand using a battery for power.
The battery is used to power heating elements to heat a Stainless Steel metal block called a heat exchanger and referenced by 2 within all Figures. Now referencing FIG. 12 and more specifically the Dolphin 5 referenced by 1 within all Figures and shows further in FIG. 12 that 1 has a primary method of operation which is indicated by S., of which is to indicate the Submerged method and 1 is partially submerged in cooling fluid.
In this method of usage, the fluid is anticipated as water that is contained within a sealed container indicated by 12. The fluid or water is indicated by the diagonal lines within a water or other fluid delivery systems, and those other delivery systems are further indicated by G., a Gravity method and P., a Pipe from a water main as found in any conventional household having plumbing and a water source.
The P. method allows the inlet end of the product Dolphin 5 that is indicated by 3 and called the Inlet Bell, to filter particulates from the water flowing within the pipe P. Water flows into an Inlet Distribution Manifold 6. and is distributed into three conduit systems 7. which allow different flow rate and cooling positions within the hollow passages positioned centrally within all conduits that flow cooling fluid through the Heat Exchanger of 2.
Fluid flows into the hollow passage of pipe 8. which is the larger pipe called the Inlet Cooling Tube and into the hollow center cooling passage of 2. and continues through the smaller hollow passage pipe 9. the Outlet Heated Tube. The flow of fluid is directed into the hollow center cooling passage of 5. the Outlet Collector Distribution Manifold which collects flowing fluid and regulates the speed of fluid flowing within the hollow passages flowing coolant fluid. The heated fluid is then allowed to be expelled outward the sealed container of 12. through the multiple sealed passages of 4. the Outlet Bell.
Using the Gravity method indicated by G. whereas the fluid is allowed to flow through the heated metal block by simply being suspended from a tree providing heated water for a shower or hot beverage with water flowing downward as it is heated, and more specifically the fluid is cooling a heated metal block called the Heat Exchanger and indicated by 2.
The preferred method of S. the submerged method of usage provides a sealed container 12., and a means of compressing air into the hollow area within that container of 12. and viewed in FIG. 3 of the above slides as an elevational end view embodiment looking into the elongated hollow area and through the container housing of 12. Also referring to 2. the Heat Exchanger block indicating a locating framework of the heat Exchanger within the confined hollow area of 12. These are Compression Tubes and referenced as 14.

A Fluid Heater that; is mobile and lightweight for people living in geographically isolated areas is comprised of electrically conducting elements that translate DC electrical current flow into heat directly through conduction. The thermal heat is translated into a metal block housing, and further into an outer polar array of isolated fluid passages, and an isolated singular center cooling passage. Water or other fluid types are forced to enter into a restricted inlet manifold and flow into multiple isolated passages through the heated block. The cool fluid flow is blocked at the outlet of the heated block center cooling tube passage, and as a result the fluid back pressures within the center outlet port of the inlet distribution manifold, and in turn distributes back-pressured fluid into the outer cooling passage arrays of the inlet manifold and the cool fluid flows into the outer cooling tube bores in the heat exchanger block. The fluid continues through the external array of tubing thru the outer heat exchanger cooling ports and into the outer heated ports of the outlet collector distribution manifold and are separated from the internal cooling tube hollow passage that is centrally located within all three metal blocks. This fluid flow separation allows a simultaneous differential in water outlet temperatures providing hot water for a beverage, or lower temperature water for showering and for the cleaning of a human body or animal as well as cooler fluid. The present invention Dolphin 5 can be used efficiently by three independent methods.
FIG. 11 below shows a schematical embodiment of a rectangular cubical and specified in inches a container that all elements of the Dolphin 5 can be confined within and specifically to example mobility and light weight. Total length is approximately 21" after assembly, however the reactor after assembly and tubes 7. 8. and 9 are removed becomes 5" diameter x 5" long.
I was just asked a question by a friend that made me think about what makes this reactor unique, and you may be asking what reactor? The water heater Dolphin 5 was designed from the aspect of promoting LENR, therefore it is considered a reactor in that application.
No matter what anyone thinks about Nuclear Research it will continue until either everyone dies or becomes sick and realizes there is no long term good in implimenting more bad waste from the human need to flourish. LENR however seems to be more "safe" but no one has got the reactions perculating so to speak. That's where Dolphin 5 has some advantages or as I would term unique and non obvious by observation from someone.
LENR is a well disputed new technology that is emerging, and was initially introduced to the intranet public from Italy in early 2011. The result of something happening and repeatable has been documented by many scientists with the physicists scratching their heads wondering what is going on to cause this currently not clarified reaction.
Original claims of the equivalent crude oil consumed versus the claimed power possible with these types of reactions in LENR was around 418 tons crude oil heat capability to $20.00 U.S. dollars spent for nickel powder and heated hydrogen and would replace the 418 tons or approximately 98,122.1 U.S. Gallons of the crude oil. That is substantial and now the Heat Exchanger from the Dolphin 5 becomes a reactor chamber block 5.250" long and 5" circularly inscribed outside diameter with the potential to replace 800,000.00 Gallons of crude oil.
Imagine that if it were actually possible, an engine/motor that produces energy for a human lifetime on an individual basis for around $160.00 in fuel costs, that is disruptive to a level of high concern.
